Milan is Italy’s bold, stylish powerhouse. More business than baroque, more design than dolce vita—it’s a city that doesn’t just follow trends; it sets them. “The Fashion Capital of the World”
From Roman emperors to runway models, Milan’s always played host to the powerful and creative. Its skyline blends spires and steel, and its streets hum with purpose. If Florence is a museum, Milan is a studio—always working on the next big thing.
Compared to the Renaissance dreamscapes of Florence or the canals of Venice, Milan is modern, edgy, and always on the move. Think high-speed trains, sleek aperitivo bars, and global fashion HQs.
Milan, Italy, is served by three main airports: Malpensa (MXP), Linate (LIN), and Bergamo (BGY) (also known as Orio al Serio). Malpensa is the largest and serves as the primary international hub. Linate is closer to the city center and popular for business and European flights. Bergamo is often used by low-cost airlines and serves as a gateway to Northern Italy.
The easiest and most convenient way, in my opinion, is to take the Malpensa Shuttle. You can check schedules and book tickets directly here.
The primary train station serving Milan is Milano Centrale. It is the main railway hub for the city, handling both domestic and international train traffic. Other important stations in Milan include Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Cadorna, Milano Lambrate, and Milano Rogoredo.
Train companies Trenitalia, Malpensa Express, Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, Italo, Trenord, Deutsche Bahn (DB), ÖBB (Austrian Railways)
Milan has an extensive public transportation system that includes buses, trams, and the metro (subway). The bus network is a key part of this system, covering a wide area and connecting various parts of the city and its suburbs. Tickets and passes can be used on all modes of transport within the ATM network (which includes buses, metro, and trams).
The official ATM website here for you to purches tickets.
